Hey there!
My name is Michael - the sole craftsman behind Elkwood Leather.
I've always had a passion for design and working with my hands and inevitably, when I was in the market for a new wallet I decided not to buy cheap again, but to make my own. I instantly fell in love with the process, from the smell of the fresh leather to the hand-stitching. There's a rare satisfaction in crafting something to the highest standard, a quality that's increasingly uncommon in today's world.
Inspired by my grandad - who carried the same classic brown leather wallet throughout his lifetime. I'm committed to honouring that legacy with a modern twist, crafting classic leather goods that he would have been proud of.
As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, I've dedicated countless hours to refining designs, researching tools, and perfecting my technique. Now, I'm proud to present a product that reflects my unwavering commitment to quality.
Eco-Friendly
We love our planet!
That is why we exclusively source Vegetable tanned leathers. Unlike chrome tanning, which employs hazardous chemicals posing risks to both workers and the environment. The vegetable tanned method uses tannins found in plant matter such as tree bark, leaves, and even some fruits, to cure the leather. These are renewable resources, making the process far more sustainable in the long term.
This commitment extends to our packaging, where we avoid plastics and opt for eco-friendly recycled materials.

This is well worth the money. It smells and feels incredible. I bought it as a wallet I can use solely for when I go out, when I dressing good and feeling good, this is the perfect accessory for that.
The level of craftsmanship in making this wallet was incredible. All the boxes have been checked in regards to fit and finish. The leather choices have been handled tastefully as well. I can’t get over the stitching , it’s done by hand but even up close you would swear a machine made them. It is the perfect size and I have 9 cards in it with bills and barely feel it in my pocket.
